What is an externship?
Learn in a working salon or spa
An externship is a voluntary training program that lets eligible students gain practical experience in a salon or spa. Students receive credit and hours toward their program.
Benefits of an externship include job-related work experience, networking, and career preparation.
Eligibility
Who can participate
- Be in good standing with attendance and GPA
- Have a current tuition account
- Have completed at least 60% of your required clock hours
- Must be a licensed establishment
- Must have at least 4 licensed professionals (booth renters do not count)
- All licensees must be in good standing with the Board
Please note: Students may complete no more than 25% of their contracted course hours through an externship. The school does not recommend specific establishments for the externship program.
