Apprenticeship Program

Apprenticeship Program

 What is an apprenticeship program?

The Apprenticeship Program is a training program approved by the Los Angeles Unified School District that allows a trainee, called an apprentice, to earn a wage while studying to become a cosmetologist or a barber under the guidance and supervision of a California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology in a salon licensed by the Board. A contract called an indenture agreement, is drawn up between an approved salon owner and trainer, the program sponsor and the apprentice.

This is a full-time, two-year, 3200-hour program. The apprentice must be employed full-time (at least 32 hours a week), earn a wage, and receive at least 260 related and supplemental instruction (RSI) hours in a classroom. KC BEAUTY ACADEMY offers Milady as a curriculum education system. With the online portal and textbook, you will master the fundamental theory necessary for exam preparation.
